MEET THE BAND
Outlaws to Ashes was formed in mid 2025. What began as side project has evolved into a full 5 piece band. Drawing influence from classic Southern Rock, Blues, and grunge. OTA is scheduled to hit the studio and begin work on their debut album.
Kenneth Coates
Lead vocals and guitar
At 13, Ken Coates started playing guitar under the tutelage of Bill Miller, a veteran Blue Grass musician. In exchange for guitar lessons, Ken did yard work for Mr. Miller. He went on to write original music and front bands in the Mississippi Gulf Coast and Greater New Orleans area, including Sullivan’s Slide and various projects. After Hurricane Katrina, Ken moved to Huntsville, Alabama, where he became familiar with the local music scene. He formed and fronted the band So Long Gemini but stepped back due to health concerns. Now, Ken is back, fronting Outlaws to Ashes and drawing from Southern Rock and Grunge influences. His vocals bring a unique blend of raspy growl, soulful tone, and impressive octave range to the band Outlaws to Ashes.
Kasey Charles
Lead Guitar
A staple in the Tennessee Valley and Huntsville music scene, Kasey has been making waves for years with his unmatched musicianship and dynamic stage presence. He’s known for his time with So Long Gemini and continues to light up stages across North Alabama with bands like Forest Haven, Tres Locos, Duos Locos, and Revolution Pilot. Whether it’s Southern rock, blues, or hard-hitting riffs, Kasey brings passion, precision, and a whole lot of soul to everything he plays.
Jason Isley
Bass
Jason has a true passion for rock music. At age 17, he acquired his first electric guitar and taught himself to play. Since that time, he has been in several bands honing his craft for Rex Malaki, The Henchmen, XIII, Covenant Everlasting, Emerson Moody, and is the current front man for Revolution Pilot. Now he is taking on bass guitar in OTA.
Eric Johnston
Drums
As a former jazz trumpeter, Eric took his love for "the groove" and applied it to drums and percussion. As a self-taught drummer, his previous bands and projects include: XIII (thûr-tēn), Covenant Everlasting, Ahead-by-One, and the current drummer for Revolution Pilot. He now joins OTA to share and continue his love of music.
Bob Davis
Keyboard
Bob began playing piano at the age of 11 and guitar at 17. At 16 he started gigging with friends in multiple bands at various venues and events. In addition to playing keys with OTA, he is a member of the Davis Trio, The Olin Henry Band, and supports the music ministry at Messiah Lutheran Church Madison. He also enjoys the art of recording, mixing, producing and creating parallel music video productions.
